Biography: Born in Sevastopol (Crimea, Ukraine) on July 7, 1967. Graduated from Odessa Conservatoire as cellist (1993) and composer (1994) and continued his education at master-courses in Nizhnij Novgorod (Russia), St.-Petersburg (Russia), Mexico, Appeldorn (Germany), Villeneuve-lez-Avignon (France). Won prizes as composer and/or ensemble performer at Ukrainian Composers' S.Prokofiev Competition (Donetsk, 1991), International Youth Music Forums (Kiev, 1993, 1994), International Composition Thomas Bloch Competition (France, 1994), Ton de Leeuw International Composers Competition (Albania, 1997), Carlo Soliva International Chamber Ensembles Competition (Italy, 1994, 1996), Valentino Bucchi Prize (Italy, 1997), was awarded the Artslink Fellowship from National Endowment for the Arts (Cincinnati, USA, 1998). He has been Artistic Director of The FRESCOS Contemporary Music Ensemble, a co-founder of the Duo Violoncellissimo, a lecturer at Odessa Conservatoire (cello, string quartet), Artistic Director of the Musica Humana International festival (Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine, 2000-2001). Appeared as cellist and composer in concerts and at international festivals in Ukraine, Russia (including Tatarstan), Moldova, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Mexico, Mongolia, and Finland.
